J. Trent Scofield MA, ALC, JD

After almost 30 years as an attorney, I decided to make a change. As a counselor, I find meaning and purpose in helping others make sense of life’s circumstances and discover the power within to find a direction that feels authentic. I believe in meeting clients where they are and working towards realistic, achievable goals. Change can be hard. However, when change matches your true self, it is priceless.

In addition to private practice, I serve as a group counselor in the recovering professionals program at a residential substance abuse treatment center. I understand what it means to work and live under the pressure of great expectations and high stakes. I believe we each can benefit from finding someone who “gets it” and who can offer needed perspective to navigate life’s challenges.

I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UAB and my law degree from The University of Alabama School of Law. I am an Associate Licensed Counselor in Alabama working under the supervision of Evan Seale, LPC-S.
